Ingredients
- 12 oz raw pecan halves
- ½ cup white sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp salt
- ⅛ tsp ground cayenne pepper
- 1 egg white lightly whisked
Instructions
Mix Spices: Combine white sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, and cayenne pepper in a medium bowl until well integrated
Prep Pecans: In a separate large bowl, whisk egg white until frothy. Add pecans and toss until evenly coated
Season: Pour the spice mixture over the coated pecans and mix thoroughly until each pecan is well covered
Preheat: Heat air fryer to 350°F / 177°C for 5 minutes
Cook: Arrange pecans in a single layer (working in batches if needed) and air fry for 5-7 minutes until golden and fragrant
Cool: Transfer pecans to a parchment-lined baking sheet to cool completely. The sugar coating will harden as it cools
Safety Note: Never place parchment paper in the air fryer during preheating to prevent fire hazards
